Dorothée Baumann-Pauly
Dorothée Baumann-Pauly is a professor at Geneva University’s School of Economics and Management. She directs the Geneva Center for Business and Human Rights, the first human rights center at a business school in Europe. Since 2013, she has also been the research director at the NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights at New York University.
In these roles, Dorothée works with companies to advance human rights in corporate practice. Her applied research is focused on embedding human rights in organisations and developing business models that enable profits and human rights principles to coexist. Dorothée also teaches business and human rights and she co-edited the first textbook on business and human rights, published by Routledge.
Dorothée earned her PhD in Economics (summa cum laude) at the University of Zurich in 2010 while working for the Fair Labor Association, a multi-stakeholder initiative with the mission to improve labour rights in global supply chains.

Maxine Bichler
Maxine consults businesses on conducting qualitative analysis, benchmarking, and risk assessments, as well as in designing solutions and strategies in line with the latest international frameworks and regulations to advance sustainability agendas.
Through her consultancy work at Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business, she has delivered multiple training courses on human rights due diligence and sustainability reporting to clients across the apparel, footwear and telecommunications industries. Most recently, Maxine trained business professionals in Luxembourg on the corporate sustainability framework in the country.
Before joining Löning, Maxine was part of the Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability team at PwC Luxembourg. Maxine holds a BSc in Criminology and Sociology from Royal Holloway, University of London and a MSc in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Serra Cremer
Serra Cremer is the founder and director of Löning Academy. Trained as a corporate lawyer with a professional background in M&A and project finance, Serra has moved to the field of business and human rights after spending seven years in corporate legal advisory and executive coaching. Since 2014, she has delivered over 3,200+ hours of training on professional communication skills, corporate social responsibility, human rights and constitutional rights to corporate professionals in multinational organisations such as Bristol Myers Squibb, Deloitte, ING Bank, PwC, and Vodafone as well as to law students at a private university.
Prior to joining Löning, she worked as a corporate lawyer, an adjunct professor of U.S. law and as the managing director of a global business communications consultancy. She has conducted human rights field work in Ghana, Israel, Palestine and Turkey. Serra is also a consultant at University of Geneva Center for Business and Human Rights, where her research focuses on the extractives sector.
Serra is a member of the New York Bar Association and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law and a double major Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies from New York University.

Rita Delgado Correcher
Rita Delgado Correcher is a consultant and Löning’s partner in Spain, as well as a professor of business and human rights at the ESIC Business and Marketing School in Valencia. Before entering academia, Rita practiced law as a corporate and criminal lawyer for over ten years in organisations such as the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM) in Utrecht, the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL) in San José and the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg. In the last 5 years, she has taught human rights to over 1,000 students, first at the International Law Department of the University of Valencia and then at ESIC Business and Marketing School.
Rita is a law graduate and holds an LL.M (cum laude) in Public International Law with a focus on international criminal law and human rights from Utrecht University. She earned her PhD (cum laude) in Human Rights, Democracy, and International Justice in 2021.

Alice Homuth
Alice Homuth is a consultant focusing on the practical implementation of human rights along complex global supply chains at Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business GmbH. Since 2015, Alice has delivered over 200 hours of training to professionals across purchasing departments in companies operating in the FMCG, textiles, footwear, retail, tourism, food and mining industries in Asia, Europe and the U.S. Alice has also provided training on strengthening international cooperation on business and human rights to representatives of development organisations, civil society and chambers of commerce as well as to students.
Before joining Löning, Alice worked in different capacities at VENRO, the GIZ, the sustainable fashion consultancy Made-by and the international corporate responsibility department of the ALDI SOUTH Group.
Alice holds a M.Sc. in Public Policy and Human Development from the United Nations University/ Maastricht Graduate School of Governance and a B.A. in European Studies from Maastricht University.

Yvonne Küpper
Yvonne Küpper is a diversity, equity and inclusion trainer. She has delivered over 100 hours of training to human resources, marketing and management professionals at Glocled, Madame Digital, SAP, Volkshochschule Berlin and WomenFairTravel.
Her favourite training experience so far was the “Diversity in Image Composition” course she developed for SAP, which was a cultural awareness training about privileges, norms, and stereotypes in the society, and a workshop she designed and delivered on representation in the media.
Yvonne holds a MA in Intercultural Education, Migration and Multilingualism, and is certified as a trainer from IHK Berlin.

Markus Löning
Markus Löning is the founder and managing director of Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business GmbH. Prior to founding Löning, Markus served as Germany’s Human Rights Commissioner and was a member of the Federal Parliament (Bundestag). During this time, Markus positioned foreign policy, civil rights and human development at the core of his political agenda and work.
Since leaving politics, Markus has continued to act as a leader of national and international political and non-profit human rights organizations. He was previously the chair of Liberal International’s Human Rights Committee, which brings together members of parliament and human rights activists from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
Markus has given speeches to businesses, governments, and organizations in over 70 countries. Moreover, he has provided training on responsible business topics to over 500 corporate professionals. Some of the organisations he has delivered training to are member companies of the UN Global Compact Networks in Germany and Switzerland as well as those of the German Chambers of Commerce in India and Sri Lanka.

Charles Muller
Following a 30-year career in financial services, during which Charles held various executive positions at Banque Générale du Luxembourg, the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry and KPMG, Charles now acts as an independent director for funds and management companies. As an expert in financial regulation, he is regularly invited to speak on sustainable corporate governance and business and human rights.
Charles was formerly a board member of the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA) and a member of the Management Committee of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA). During his time as a Partner at KPMG Luxembourg, he was also a member of KPMG’s Global Leadership Team for Investment Management and a Global Lead on Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive.
Having studied law in Paris and London, Charles is a registered honorary attorney (‘avocat honoraire’) with the Luxembourg Bar Association. He acts as the chair of the non-profit organization “Finance and Human Rights asbl” and serves as a member of several public advisory bodies in Luxembourg, including the Asset Management Committee (Comité GFI) of the financial regulator, Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier and the Business and Human Rights Committee of the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Charles is fluent in English, French, German and Luxembourgish.

Marie Nientiedt
Marie Nientiedt is a consultant at Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business. In her role as a consultant, she supports companies from a broad range of industries in the practical implementation of human rights due diligence – from initial risk analysis to the implementation of preventative measures, incl. the development of holistic corporate human rights training strategies. She has delivered training for more than 250 professionals in the field of sustainability, for example to procurement and sustainability teams in major corporations across various industries such as mining, industrial engineering, chemicals and consumer goods.
Marie holds an M.Sc. in International Business Administration from the European University Viadrina and, as a part of her studies, completed a program on Business and Human Rights at the University of Zurich.

Lavanya Pai
Lavanya is a business and human rights consultant who has delivered multiple training programmes on sustainability management and business and human rights risk mapping as well as knowledge-sharing sessions on freedom of association, women and migrant worker experiences, modern slavery and rights of indigenous and local communities.
Prior to joining Löning, Lavanya worked as a sustainability management analyst at companies such as EcoVadis, Nexio Projects and Sustify.
She holds an MA in International Development, Human Rights and Global Economy, and a BA in Social Sciences and Europe-Asia relations from Sciences Po Paris.

Theresa Quiachon
Theresa Quiachon is an expert in strategic consulting, stakeholder engagement, and qualitative research. Her work as a senior consultant at Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business for corporate clients and NGOs includes the assessment of human rights risks and the set-up of corresponding due diligence processes, including the development of policies, sector-specific measures and capacity building.
In the past 15 years, she has trained over 500 people across seniority levels on business and human rights topics. She has also delivered function-specific content, for example to build capacity among procurement, human resources and corporate social responsibility teams in understanding their impact on human rights. Some of the organisations she has delivered training to are DER Touristik, Futouris, Arcadis, Lidl, Birkenstock, Oerlikon, Tonies, Melitta, Media Markt, Tchibo, Rewe, the Responsible Mica Initiative, UNDP Germany and WWF.
Theresa holds a M.A. in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the Freie Universität Berlin.

Thomas Steins
Thomas is the co-founder and managing director of CAIDAO Berlin GmbH, an institute for management consulting. He has over 15 years of experience as a strategy consultant and a business coach.
Through his work advising executive management, Thomas has delivered training to more than 300 members of work councils and advisory boards across organisations such as Bertelsmann, Deutsche Post, Gruner+Jahr and RTL News. He has also provided advisory services to parliament members and the European Parliament on media management.
Prior to his current capacity, Thomas acted as the co-founder and CEO of the climate technology start-up CO2free. He holds a MA in Economics and Political Science.

Lisa Szeponik is an expert in stakeholder and rights-holder engagement. She has been a founding team member at Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business GmbH, where she serves as a director.
Lisa has led tens of human rights due diligence projects for a diverse portfolio of clients, such as international food and beverage retailers, consumer goods brands, and non-profit organizations including UNICEF and WWF Germany. She has spent a decade in the field of business and human rights, sustainability and organisational development, and has delivered over 500 hours of workshops and on-site training to professionals across corporate functions in companies such as Aurubis, DER Touristik, Melitta and Tchibo. One of her favourite training experiences was one for WWF Germany on Human Rights Day, where she developed different content packages including an exhibition on human rights, a role-play exercise and Q&A sessions.
Prior to joining Löning, Lisa was the co-founder of Happy Works, a consultancy for shaping the working world of the future. Lisa is trained in Theme-Centered Interaction (TCI) and holds a B.A. in Latin American Regional Studies with a focus on political science.

Liesbeth Unger
Liesbeth Unger is Löning’s partner in the Netherlands and the founder of Human Rights@Work. Trained as a human rights lawyer, Liesbeth advises international organisations, governments, and medium and large multinational corporations on the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines. As part of her work, she conducts risk and impact assessments, designs human rights policies, and supports organisations in the development of action plans.
Liesbeth also facilitates and designs training and workshops on business and human rights topics. In the last 15 years, she has delivered over 500 hours of training at companies such as Ahold, Arcadis, Friesland Campina and Vattenfall and international organisations such as Oxfam and UNICEF.
