Simon Töpfer
Consultant
Simon is a consultant at Löning.
He is interested in the implementation of human rights in supply chains, specifically in the intersection between natural resources, environmental issues and human rights. His prior work and research were centred on various sectors in the water-energy-food nexus.
Before joining Löning, Simon has worked on water management at the adelphi public policy consultancy in Berlin focussing on water diplomacy and cooperation which involved stakeholder engagement and grassroots solutions to global problems. He was able to conjoin this experience with human rights issues at Löning during 2021 working on a range of projects in agricultural, chemical and fishing industries in different regions. He is re-joining the team after the completion of his master’s degree.
Simon holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a B.A. in International Relations and Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, University of London).
He speaks German and English.
