Christian Ewert

Senior Strategy Advisor

Christian is a business and association executive with a wealth of experience in promoting responsible business conduct and driving positive change.

Throughout his career, Christian has demonstrated a strong commitment to responsible practices. Starting from his early days managing factories in Asia in the early nineties, his focus has consistently been on encouraging businesses to act responsibly, utilising an approach centered around engagement, empowerment, and motivation to create opportunities for positive impact and inclusive outcomes.

One of Christian’s areas of expertise is sustainable supply chains and their associated risks. This has made him a trusted authority in the field and a strong advocate for important legislative initiatives such as the German Supply Chain Act and the EU Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence.

Before joining Löning, Christian worked as the president of two organisations: the ICTI CARE Foundation and amfori – trade with purpose. Under Christian’s leadership, both organisations boasted memberships exceeding 2,500 and have played a crucial role in mobilising member companies to prioritise human rights and responsible business conduct throughout their global supply chains. While serving for amfori in Brussels, Christian actively participated in shaping global trade issues and fostering productive dialogue between the EU Commission and various Asian countries.

Christian holds an MBA from the Munich University of Applied Sciences and is fluent in German and English.
