Charles Muller

Following a 30-year career in financial services, during which Charles held various executive positions at Banque Générale du Luxembourg, the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry and KPMG, Charles now acts as an independent director for funds and management companies. As an expert in financial regulation, he is regularly invited to speak on sustainable corporate governance and business and human rights.

Charles was formerly a board member of the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA) and a member of the Management Committee of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA). During his time as a Partner at KPMG Luxembourg, he was also a member of KPMG’s Global Leadership Team for Investment Management and a Global Lead on Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive.

Having studied law in Paris and London, Charles is a registered honorary attorney (‘avocat honoraire’) with the Luxembourg Bar Association. He acts as the chair of the non-profit organization “Finance and Human Rights asbl” and serves as a member of several public advisory bodies in Luxembourg, including the Asset Management Committee (Comité GFI) of the financial regulator, Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier and the Business and Human Rights Committee of the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Charles is fluent in English, French, German and Luxembourgish.
