Cecilia Barral Diego

Cecilia is an international human rights lawyer whose work focuses on establishing and assessing human rights due diligence processes for companies, including conducting human rights impact assessments and risk assessments and developing policies and measures aligned with international human rights standards and best practices.

Her advisory work encompasses both German and international companies from different sectors, such as textile, food, and energy.  In addition, she is a founding member and the former vice-chair of Finance and Human Rights.

Cecilia is a law graduate and holds an LL.M in International and European Law with a focus on human rights law from the University of Amsterdam. She has gained experience in different international settings, such as the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) at the European Parliament in Brussels, the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) in London, the Human Rights Office of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Madrid and the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL) in Washington D.C.
