Head of Löning Academy

Serra Cremer Iyi is the founder and director of Löning Academy. She also heads Löning’s communications and marketing activities.

Trained as a corporate lawyer with a background in M&A and project finance, Serra brings her experience representing businesses and advising senior management to the interdisciplinary field of business and human rights. Prior to her position at Löning, she was the managing director of Executive English Coaching, where she planned and executed the restructuring of the company and led corporate communications and marketing. As a global communications coach, she has roughly ten years of experience in professional training and has delivered over 3,000 hours of executive and corporate training in cross-cultural communication skills as well as responsible business topics.

Serra also acts as a consultant at the University of Geneva’s Center for Business and Human Rights, where she has been the principal researcher and co-lead of the extractives work stream since 2019. In this role, she co-authors media pieces that advocate responsible sourcing standards in the battery supply chain.

Serra is a member of the New York Bar Association. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law and is a graduate of New York University with a double major B.A. degree in Economics and in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. She also completed a Business and Human Rights program at the University of Zurich in 2018.

Serra is bilingual in English and Turkish and fluent in German.
